Kids story telling / bed time story - The Blue Jackal

Once upon a time there lived a jackal in a forest. He was very hungry and so he thought of going to a nearby village in search of food. When the jackal entered the village a group of dogs chased him. Jackal got frightened. He ran very fast and jumped into the house of a painter. But he fell into a drum filled with blue paint. 

When the dogs stopped barking the Jackal quietly crawled out of the drum. He saw his reflection in a nearby morrow. He was surprised to see his blue colored body. His whole body was covered in blue. He was very upset. He ran into the forest. 

When he reached the forest, the animals got scared and ran away. Seeing the animals run in fear the Jackal thought of an idea. He shouted “Please don’t run. You don’t need to be afraid of me. I am a very special animal sent by God to protect you.”

 Animals believed the Jackal and they accepted him as the King. The Jackal was very happy now. All the animals took care of him. They gave him lot of food to eat. 

Seeing the care given by animals, the Jackal was so happy and excited that he started howling loudly. Suddenly from a distance, some other jackals started howling too. Hearing the howl, the animals realized they have been fooled by a Jackal. They all shouted and chased him out of the jungle.
